She did not marry for another twelve years, and when she did, she brought this with her — not as dowry, but as proof that she had waited on her own terms. Her daughter inherited it. Her granddaughter sold it, decades later, to a dealer who did not know the story. The symbols still hold. The intentions still hover in the wool, patient as they have always been.
